Bridge is period-cottage country. The village core along the High Street includes a number of listed cottages, and the Bridge Conservation Area covers most of the historic centre. Any elevation-mounted work - external cable route, EV charger, garden lighting run through a front garden - sits under Canterbury City Council conservation team's remit and typically needs a scope conversation before quote.
Property age drives the workload. Original 1930s-and-earlier wiring is not uncommon behind original plaster - cloth-covered rubber insulation on some pre-war stock still in service, well past its useful life. Full rewires are correspondingly a bigger share of the Bridge round than they are in the newer Canterbury suburbs.
